Spear-headed by Elder Vanessa O’Sullivan, IFA provided fresh produce to the community to promote healthy living. Fresh produce is provided twice monthly, the 1st and 3rd Saturday from May through October.
Healthy Homes Faith Health Hubs, Educator- In collaboration with Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry
Vanessa O’Sullivan, a Health Educator within IFA empowers parents to keep their families and homes safe from lead poisoning and other home based hazards. Educators also take key advocacy steps in support of families.
Educators are committed to living out our faith in the public arena and to help community members live healthy and prosperous lives. The impact results in improved quality of lives for children, students, parents, communities and society at large.
Community members are educated on health hazards that contribute to the many social ills facing families within the community.
Health Hub Educators are trained by Cleveland Healthy Homes Advisory Council, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Cleveland Department of Public Health.

Robert Pickard, Grief Counselor, Cornerstone of Hope
Robert Pickard, Grief Counselor and Trauma Specialist from Cornerstone of Hope appeared on WKYC-TV 3 to talk about dealing with grief over the holidays. Robert Pickard is the husband of Elder Constance Pickard, Minister of Music, Band and Choir Director of IFA. Mr. Pickard expressed how individuals experience guilt during holidays and the shock that families deal with throughout the holiday season. When asked “How do we Deal?” Mr. Pickard expressed “Don’t do things that make you feel uncomfortable because triggers will come, give yourself permission to leave and be able to do the things you feel comfortable about”.
He further expressed that you should avoid those that make you experience stress, avoid big functions and lastly “be patient with yourself”. Robert Pickard is also an ordained pastor and he works closely with those in need of grief recovery..
